The 3 truths about finding courage and your new purpose

How do you find more meaning?

Do you ever get the feeling something bigger is out there for you? Do you feel like you have wasted your precious time pursuing the wrong things? As women, we tend to shy away from focusing on what we want and what makes us happy. Sometimes we even feel selfish to put ourselves first. But it shouldn't be that way.

Being a mom I usually put myself last. And I love being a mom and it's been the greatest gift, but it doesn't define everything about me. But what does define me?

I started to ask myself what was I here to do and accomplish? Was I putting my best effort into all I did? Into my life, my career, my relationships? I knew the answer was no. I knew I could do more, be more. It was time for me do something more meaningful with my life.

Doing something meaningful with your life means something different to everyone

To me, it was finding the confidence in my own voice and talents so I can focus on helping others. So I started my inspirational t-shirt business. But it wasn't only about selling shirts, it was about finding a way to inspire girls and evoke a change in their mindset. It was about taking my experiences and giving back the way I knew best. It was about living a purposeful life.

by doing what you love you awaken the hearts of others

Everyone does have a purpose in life and something special to share with the world. Whether it’s making someone laugh or taking care of them when they’re sick or teaching them something new. Everyone is on this earth for a reason.

These three truths helped me find more purpose in my life:

  1. Life is about giving it a try. Why not? What do you have to lose? If it doesn’t work out, then you move onto the next thing until you land on something that feels right for you. It may take you a few months, or it may take you a few years. Success rarely happens overnight. Enjoy the hard work and dedication it took for you to get there.working hard and staying comitted will get you to your purpose
  2. You're going to change. As you age and mature your interests will mature too. Your interests in your twenties, may not be your interests in your thirties. And so on. Learn to be adaptable and adjust your interests to get to your end goal. It’s okay to move onto other things. Learn from one experience and take that knowledge and apply it to the next experience.
  3. Don't be so hard on yourself. You will get there in time. Enjoy what you're learning about yourself. Stay committed to your dreams and focus your time and energy on the positive things in your life. Don't listen to that voice in your head that says you aren't going to make it because you are.
